How to make Sandwiches with beetroot and herring
A sandwich with a sweet taste of beetroot is perfect for a quick snack
Step-by-step recipe
1. |
For the basis of the sandwich, take a baguette, preferably French or traditional wheat, their taste qualities are maximally combined with beetroot and herring. |
2. |
The baguette is cut in half in length and cut into 5-6 cm pieces . Fry the bread until browned in a frying pan with butter. |
3. |
Beetroot: grate boiled beets on a fine grater, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil (for a bunch and increase the taste) and mayonnaise. The main thing is not to overdo it with mayonnaise, otherwise it will clog the taste of herring, so we put quite a bit. |
4. |
Herring, pitted, cut into slices diagonally. The width of the slice is slightly less than the width of a piece of bread (or at your discretion). |
5. |
Cucumbers are sliced with a thickness of no more than 2 mm. If the pieces of herring are thick, three slices of cucumber will go for a sandwich, two slices of cucumber will be enough for thinly sliced herring. Onions are cut into half rings. |
6. |
Laying out the ingredients for a sandwich: beetroot goes to the bottom of the baguette, we put cucumbers on top of it on one side, herring on the other side. Onion on top of the herring. |
