Homemade drinks in Russia have always been famous for their taste and tonic effect. What is only the famous Russian bread kvass worth. It is especially pleasant to overturn a large mug of this wonderful drink after a bath, or on hot summer days. But it’s not about him today. There were also recipes for excellent soft drinks that did not contain alcohol abroad. Lemonade was quite a popular product in medieval Europe, the recipe of which they borrowed from the Arabs. According to other sources, the specific homeland of lemonade was medieval France. In any case, despite the origin, this drink is very useful, and perfectly quenches thirst.
First of all, we will need natural lemon juice. To do this, you will have to use a juicer, or, at least, a strong male hand. We need to squeeze at least one glass of lemon juice. In order for the squeezing process to be easier (if there is no special juicer), before cutting a lemon into two halves, it must first be kneaded with force by rolling on the table. Then cut, squeeze the contents out of each half.
Pour the prepared lemon juice into a glass container (jar or jug). (I like to add a little more lime juice, it has an incredible flavor).
Add the required amount of cold water and a portion of granulated sugar according to the recipe.
Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved, add a little fresh mint and taste. If it’s too sweet– we’ll dilute it with water. If there is not enough sourness, you can put lemon / lime rings in the container (or squeeze out the juice).
We put the ready-made lemonade in the refrigerator. After cooling, you can use it. If desired, add a few cubes of food ice to the glass. So the drink will become even cooler and more pleasant to the taste.
