To make homemade marmalade, you will need only three ingredients. And it tastes the same as store-bought, even tastier.
How to make Homemade marmalade
Marmalade is a favorite treat not only for children, but also for many adults. But store-bought marmalade is not entirely useful and is not cheap. Although it is very easy to cook it yourself at home.
Step-by-step recipe
1. |
We will need any juice or compote. I took the cherry juice. Since it’s a little sour, I made more sugar. But if your juice is sweet, the amount of sugar can be reduced to taste. Pour the juice into a saucepan and mix it with sugar. Mix it up. |
2. |
Then add gelatin to it. I use a regular one, which swells for about an hour, but you can also use a fast-dissolving one. At this stage, you can also add citric acid if your juice is too sweet. Stir and leave for the time indicated on the package until the gelatin is completely soft. In my case, an hour has passed. |
3. |
We put the mass on a small fire and warm it up until all the gelatin has dispersed. Be sure to stir constantly, otherwise the gelatin will burn. The mixture should become homogeneous. |
4. |
Grease the baking dish with odorless vegetable oil, so that you can then easily pull the marmalade out of the mold. Then pour the resulting mixture into it through a sieve. |
5. |
Leave the form with the future marmalade at room temperature for 10 minutes. |
6. |
When the mixture begins to harden slightly, put the mold in the refrigerator for a few hours until completely solidified. |
7. |
When the mass hardens well, pass the knife along the edge and pry the marmalade with a spatula to easily pull it out. Cut the marmalade into pieces. Sprinkle the marmalade with sugar. |
8. |
I keep marmalade in a jar. Enjoy your meal. |
