We cook delicious meat meatballs with rice, in a thick sour cream and tomato sauce. These meatballs are served without a side dish, with salad or vegetables.
How to cook Meatballs with rice in sour cream and tomato sauce
The word «meatball» came from the Italian word, and it means «fried in a frying pan». But I suggest cooking meatballs in the oven. It’s easier and more useful. The composition of the dish is quite simple, and besides minced meat, probably everything is always in the kitchen, at hand. But since minced meat is the main ingredient of this dish, then you need to pay special attention to it. It is best to make minced meat yourself using a meat grinder. If this is not possible, then choose a good ground beef, or ground beef + pork. Minced meat should not be greasy, pay attention to the color when buying. If the color is pale pink, then there may be a lot of fat in the minced meat.
If you still took my advice and decided to make the stuffing yourself, then let’s start. Pass the meat through a meat grinder. And half of the onion head there too. If you have purchased minced meat, then do not add onions. Salt, pepper and add the egg. Stir and put it in the refrigerator for now.
Rice is washed in running water. Fill with cold water and put the saucepan on the stove. After boiling, turn down the heat and cook for another five minutes. Drain the water, rinse the rice with cold water.
Peel onions and carrots. Cut the onion into small cubes (you can take half of the red and salad), grate the carrots on a fine grater. Fry the onion in vegetable oil first, then the carrot.
Mix the minced meat, rice and the cooled mixture of fried onions and carrots in a deep bowl. Make balls the size of a small apple. Prepare a small baking sheet, grease with vegetable oil. Carefully place the meatballs on a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
Prepare the gravy. Garlic is passed through a press. Mix sour cream with tomato paste and garlic. Add warm water. I usually add a glass, but it depends on what size of baking sheet you have. Meatballs should be comfortably placed on a baking sheet waist-deep in sauce.
We put it in the oven for 40 minutes and the tenderest meatballs are ready. We lay out on plates, decorate with herbs and serve with vegetables or vegetable salad. Bon Appetit!
