We will cook the salad without mayonnaise. I am for proper nutrition, especially since mayonnaise can be easily replaced with yogurt-based sauce.
How to make a seafood salad with an apple
I really like salads with seafood, and especially with squid. Firstly, they, like any other seafood, are very useful, contain iodine, and many other vitamins and trace elements, as well as protein, which is easily digested. It is very useful for children, slowly teach them to eat. But squid is also very tasty. Tender, soft meat with a slight hint of seafood. And if you add more shrimp to the salad, I love them too, but they bite, it will be a triumph of taste!
Defrost and peel the squid. Remove the skin from them, it should slide with a stocking. Remove all the insides and the transparent stick that is the spine. Wash them with cold water and put them in a separate bowl. You can immediately peel the onion head. Turn on the kettle with water.
I do not advise boiling squid and shrimp together. They have different smells and they need to be cooked in different ways. Take your time. Put a pot of cold water and wait until it boils. Add salt. Meanwhile, chop the onion. The smaller, the better. It should not be visible and it should not taste. It will give only piquancy. Put the chopped onion in a sieve and pour boiling water over it. Let it drain and cool down.
In the salad, we will cut everything into strips, except onions. We take the crab sticks out of the package and taste them. Normal? There is no unpleasant smell, and they do not fall apart on the «go»? Excellent. We cut the whole package.
The water for the squid has boiled, we lower them into a saucepan. They should spend exactly two minutes in a hot «bath». Please, no more! Or eat rubber squid afterwards. We take it out and cool it. And again we put water in a saucepan, now for shrimp.
While the squid is cooling down, we will make a dressing. In natural, non-fat yogurt, without any additives, we put lemon juice and a clove of garlic passed through a press. There is also salt and paprika. We’re in the way. Boil the shrimp, too, not for long. They are all already boiled, so 2-3 minutes is enough. We take it out, cool it, clean it. Cut the squid into thin strips.
Now we are collecting our salad. I haven’t forgotten about the apple, don’t think. His at the very last moment. In a deep bowl, put the squid straws, crab sticks, and shrimp and onions. Now peel the apple and cut it into thin plates-straws. The pieces should be thinner and smaller than the pieces of squid and sticks. The taste of the apple should be barely perceptible and shade the taste of seafood. Fill everything with dressing and mix. You can decorate with greenery. Bon Appetit!
