How to make a seafood salad with shrimp, mussels, squid, octopus
Seafood is very healthy. They contain vitamins A and D, iron, copper, potassium and a whole list of trace elements necessary for human health. I recommend at least sometimes to indulge yourself with various seafood salads. You can choose one or two, but today I suggest trying a salad cocktail, which will include as many as four marine components. You can add an egg and a fresh cucumber to the salad, they will dilute the taste. But if you are a true lover of seafood salad, then let’s cook a little today, but very tasty!
A sea cocktail of mussels and octopuses can be bought in brine or in oil. The main thing is to choose a trusted manufacturer, so that the product is delicious, fresh, without unpleasant odors and sourness. Of course, it is better to prepare the ingredients for the salad yourself, but it will take a little longer. Today we will use pickled seafood. Open and drain the liquid.
Onions are peeled and cut into very thin half rings. Take a sharper knife, the onion should be almost transparent. Thick slices will spoil the whole taste. Put the onion in a sieve, and pour 200 grams of boiling water on it. Now let it drain. Boil the shrimp for two to three minutes, cool, clean.
Defrost the squid in advance and clean it. Do not take peeled squid. There are two types of industrial cleaning of squid: mechanical and chemical. From the chemical, as you understand, the squid meat spoils, and as a result, health. If you bought a good squid carcass, smooth and without skin damage, then the upper film will be removed easily as a stocking. Remove the transparent cartilage of their spine, as well as the insides.
We lower the squid into boiling water for two or three minutes. No more! Then we take it out, cool it at room temperature and cut it into thin strips. Wash the parsley in running cold water, wipe dry. Cut very finely. You can leave a few twigs for decoration.
Half a lemon is cut into thin slices. In olive oil, add the juice of the second half of a lemon. There is also a clove of garlic passed through the press. Salt, pepper to taste. We are collecting a salad. Put squid, shrimp, onion and mussels with octopuses in a bowl. I prefer to cut octopuses, although they are small, but it is inconvenient to eat whole ones. Sprinkle with parsley and season with olive oil with lemon juice and garlic. Bon Appetit!
