Crumbly and tender shortbread cookies with poppy seeds. If you do not take into account the steaming of the poppy, I would call it «in a hurry» or «a minute», since it is really quick and easy to prepare!
To begin with, steam the poppy by pouring boiling water over it. Proportions 1:2 (poppy: boiled water). After half an hour, throw the poppy on a sieve, draining the excess liquid. Put the poppy in a bowl and pour boiling water again, leaving it for 1 hour. In principle, the longer the better, you can do this whole procedure overnight).
In a deep bowl, mix powdered sugar with softened butter. Beat with a mixer. Add eggs, beat again.
Add salt, baking powder, vanilla and milk, mix. After adding the poppy (if there is excess liquid left, drain), mix. Add the flour sifted through a sieve in parts. Mix again.
The dough should not be dense. It should turn out to be of such a consistency that it can be deposited using a pastry bag. If necessary, if the dough is too thin, add more flour.
We transfer the dough to a pastry bag. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper and squeeze the dough into it in the form of rings. We try to make the rings the same size. You need to leave a little space between the cookies, because when baking they are a little blurry.
Send to the already (!) preheated to 180 C oven. The oven must be preheated in advance. If you put it in an insufficiently heated one, the cookies will spread out and lose their shape.
Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. The baking time depends on the size of your cookies and the capabilities of the oven.
Let cool, you can sprinkle the cookies with powdered sugar on top.
