A simple recipe for crispy squid with salt and pepper
For the batter:
How to Cook Squid Rings
To do this, the squid is cut into rings, covered with batter and deep-fried until crisp. Everything is very easy.
I would also like to note that a mixture of ordinary flour with corn starch gives a characteristic crispy texture.
Step-by-step recipe
1. |
First, prepare the squid. Rinse well in cool water both inside and outside, clean from films if necessary. Dry it on a paper towel. |
2. |
Cut the squid into rings ~ 2 cm thick . |
3. |
To make the batter: |
4. |
Pour a sufficient amount of oil ~ 5-7 cm into a deep medium-sized saucepan. Heat over medium heat to a temperature of 140-150 degrees (this is a medium t fryer). If there is no thermometer at hand, there is a way to determine the temperature by dropping a little batter, and observe the oil. |
5. |
While the oil is heating, add the squid to the batter and mix well. |
6. |
Gently lower the squid into the oil, helping yourself with a spatula so that the squid does not stick together. Add in small portions. |
7. |
Fry until golden brown or crispy. Try not to overdo it. |
8. |
Remove with a sieve or a slotted spoon and spread on a dish covered with paper towels. |
9. |
Sprinkle the freshly fried squid lightly. number of ground pepper. You can serve it with hot sauce or any at your discretion. |
